Contract Bridge and Pavements Engineer on the RMS Site Team for the upgrade of the Pacific Highway from Frederickton to Eungai. Value $750 million

Contract Technical advisor to Port Macquarie Hastings Council for the Replacement of Stingray Creek Bridge and approach roadworks. Value of $25 million. Duties included

Contract Project Manager for Arogen in the installation of infrastructure using Horizontal Directional Drilling techniques. Projects included;

Installation of 1.2km of electrical conduits by Horizontal Directional Drilling techniques benath the Macleay River for Essential Energy. Value of $500,000
Installation of 750m of Water main by Horizontal Directional Drilling techniques in very hard rock beneath the Macleay River for Kempsey Shire Council. Value of $4.5 million
Installation of 800m of Water main by Horizontal Directional Drilling techniques for Wyong Shire Council. . Value of $200,000
Installation of 500m of Communication Conduit by Horizontal Directional Drilling techniques beneath the Manning River for Thiess. Value of $425,000

Contractual Claims review for Department of Public Works, Coffs Harbour. Engaged to review a major contractual claim submitted by a Contractor on the Bowraville Dam project

Principals Authorised Person on site for Bellingen Shire Council

Development of Tender Documentation, Tender Review, Site Supervision and Contract Administration for the rehabilitation of ten land slip sites using Soil Nails

Senior Civil Engineer on Contract to the Roads and Traffic Authority for the upgrade of the Pacific Highway for the Kempsey Bypass and the construction of a 3.5km bridge over the Macleay River and Floodplain. Australia’s Longest Bridge. Value of $180 million. Duties included;

Assist the RTA’s Assistant Representative in the day-to-day conduct of the project and administration of the Contract during construction
Assist the RTA’s Assistant Representative with the review of Works programme and Extension of time and claim reports;
Review the Contractors Project Management Plans which includes Project Quality Plan, Project OHS&R Plan and Project Environmental Plan.

Contract Civil Engineer as part of the Project Verification team on the upgrade of the Pacific Highway from Sapphire to Woolgoolga north of Coffs Harbour. Value of $516 million. Duties included;

Development of Project Risk Management Plan.
Development of Project Surveillance Plan and levels of Surveillance undertaken.
Direction, Control and coordination of the two Project Engineers and four Surveillance Officers.
Review of Daily Surveillance Reports from site surveillance officers on a weekly basis.
Develop product surveillance checklists for use by Surveillance Officers.

Contract Civil Engineer assisting many projects for the Department of Public Works in the Northern Region including:

Contract Claims assessment on the $39 million Clarence Valley Wastewater Scheme
Contract Site Representative for a Sewage Pumping Station west of Port Macquarie
Tender Development and Documentation for the Commonwealth Governments National School Pride projects in the Northern Region.
Assistance with design review of the Nambucca Council Water Supply scheme
Feasibility Study and Value Management for the dredging of sand from Coffs Harbour

Contract Project Manager employed by Lothway TBS for Tower Refurbishment of 150 steel lattice towers for Energy Australia. Duties include:

Overall planning and management of a team of tower blasters and painters working south of Sydney
Resource planning and implementation to meet tight time frames imposed by Energy Australia during power outages.
Development and implementation of work procedures for the steel member replacements needed on these towers.
Verification and certification of the completed refurbishment process as a certified coating inspector.
Submission of all progress claims
Review and submission of relevant cost reports and analysis.

Contract Superintendent for a private company, Avanti Nominees that owned commercial property in Brisbane. The first major project was Concrete pavement Rectification at 350 Lytton Road, Morningside. Duties include;

Design and Contract Documentation review and approval
Preparation of Contract Documentation.
Tender review and report
Contract supervision and administration

Contract Construction Manager for Ridge Consolidated. Duties include:

The effective overall running of the business.
Control of approximately 75 staff and an annual turnover of $30 million
Market research and investigation into new areas.
Preparation and review of all tenders and all estimates for all projects.
Final review and negotiation of the contract if successful.
Authorise the overall contract management systems.
Arrange for preparation of each contract management system.
Appoint project team structure including project managers, site engineers and foreman.
Approve all employment changes.
Review and approve all subcontracts.
Programming and co-ordination of work and resources across all projects.
Review and input into major contractual claims arising during the works.
Review of monthly project progress claims and monthly financial reports.
Attendance at monthly meetings and maintain a close relationship with senior management from the client.
Develop and implement training programmes for staff members.
Offer assistance to all staff on the management and control of all projects.
Continual review and monitoring of the Ridge Consolidated financial costing and reporting system.
Monthly reporting to the shareholders on progress and profitability.
Direct, review and monitor the office administration system.
Undertake the role of Quality Manager.
Undertake the role of OHS&R Manager.
Undertake the role of Environmental Manager.
Undertake the role of Industrial Relations Co-ordinator/ Manager including development of a Workplace Agreement.

Project Manager, Gravesend

RTA project for the Northern Region at Gravesend for the pavement reconstruction of the Gwydir Highway in 3 stages over 11km of highway. Project valued at $5 million and included.

Project Manager, Halcombe Hill

RTA project for the Newcastle region on the New England Highway 14km north of Muswellbrook. Project valued at $13 million and involved the construction

Clearing & grubbing in rail corridor and under Section 87 Permit;
Reconstruction of 1.66km of the New England Highway including earthworks, stormwater drainage and pavements;
Relocation of railway level crossing transponder;
Construction of bridge over Main Northern Railway;
Development of Railway Safety Plan to ARTC specifications
Design and construction of reinforced soil walls;
Ancillary Works including barriers, line marking signs and kerbs

Project Manager, Maria River

RTA project for the Northern Region on the Pacific Highway 5km south of Kempsey valued at $5 million and included:

Design of a new bridge and retaining wall by an external bridge designer.
Construction of a Retaining Wall.
Earthworks, Stormwater Drainage and Subsoil Drainage.
Unbound pavement construction and Asphalt pavement.
Construction of a Bridge over the Maria River.
Ancillary works including safety barriers, pavement marking, signposting and vegetation.

Project Manager, Dam Remediation at Broombee Horse Stud

Project Developed by the owners of the Horse Stud, Gerry Harvey to remediate a major dam on the property. Project valued at $2.3 million.

Contract Project Manager for a local Coffs Harbour Civil Engineering contractor, Ryan Earthmoving on the Moonee Beach Road Intersection. Project Management for the upgrade of an intersection of the Pacific Highway and Moonee Beach Road for a private developer as part of a Works Agreement Deed with the RTA.

Contract Project Manager for Milbant Constructions. Project Management for the construction of sewerage reticulation works at Arrawarra Mullaway north of Coffs Harbour for Coffs Harbour City Council. The project was a multi million dollar project involving 12km of sewer gravity mains, 12km of sewer rising mains and numerous associated works including roadworks, cycleways and under creek boring.

Contract Earlyworks Project Manager for NSW Department of Commerce, Coffs Harbour. Appointed Project Manager to develop and manage the initial civil works for the expansion of the Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie hospital sites for the construction of an integrated cancer care centre for the NSW Department of Health. Duties include:

Review and management of the development application process for both sites.
Review of the overall design for both sites with regular weekly meetings with both design consultants.
Development and review of the contract documentation for both sites.
Review and improvement to the designs.
Development of contract documents and technical specifications for both projects.
Contract negotiations and reports.
Claims Assessment for Projects. Engaged to review and prepare assessment reports on numerous contractual claims submitted before the Department of Commerce for numerous projects

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Sinclair Knight Merz as Resident Engineer/Superintendents Representative for the Site Management and Supervision for the RTA on the repainting of Harwood Bridge and the reconstruction of Pollacks Bridge over the Nymboida River at Nymboida.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Sinclair Knight Merz as Resident Engineer/ Superintendents Representative, New England Area. Site Management and Supervision for the RTA on bridgeworks and roadworks on various sites throughout the New England Area in Northern NSW.The projects managed included:

Shanty Mountain Project on the New England Highway 45km north of Tamworth. Valued at $1.0 million and involved the construction of a flexible pavement and ancillary roadworks to improve the road alignment and grade.
Rangoon Project on the New England Highway 72km north of Armidale. Valued at $4.3 million and involved the construction of a deep lift stabilised pavement and ancillary roadworks to improve the road alignment and pavement structure.
Tenterfield Bridges Project on the New England Highway 3km south of Tenterfield. Valued at $2.3 million and involved the construction of two reinforced concrete bridges and approach flexible pavement works and ancillary roadworks to improve the road alignment and width of the previous bridge crossings.
Gravesend Bridges Project on the Gywdir Highway 3km east of Gravesend. Valued at $1.7 million and involved the construction of three reinforced concrete bridges and approach flexible pavement works and ancillary roadworks to improve the road alignment and width of the previous timber bridge crossings.
Mille Creek, Barraba Project on the Fossickers Way 3km north of Barraba. Valued at $3.0 million and involved the construction of a deep lift stabilised sub-base layer overlaid by a flexible base layer with ancillary roadworks to improve the road alignment and pavement structure.
Four Bridges West of Tenterfield Project on the Bruxner Highway 7 to 70km west of Tenterfield. Valued at $4.0 million and involved the construction of four reinforced concrete bridges and approach flexible pavement works and ancillary roadworks to improve the width and structure of the previous timber bridge crossings.
Overtaking Lanes at North Guyra and Kootingal on the New England Highway. Valued at $1.2 million and involved the construction of two flexible pavement overtaking lanes and ancillary roadworks to improve the highway capacity.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Statewide Road Engineers as Resident Engineer/ Superintendents Representative, Coffs Harbour, NSW. Contract administration and Supervision for the RTA on roadworks and bridgeworks on the Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour. Valued at $50 million.Supervision of 6 km of dual carriageway concrete pavement road works and six bridges which involved:

Review of design and documentation prior to tender
Organise and chair of the pre-tender meeting, issue of pre-tender minutes
Assessment of tenders and preparation of tender report
General construction supervision in all areas of road and bridgeworks
Liaison with RTA Testing Services and SWR Surveyors
Liaison with public utility authorities, local council and landowners
Submission of a monthly OHS&R report with weekly site audit
Administration and auditing of Contractors Quality System
Preparation of progress certificates and monthly progress reports
Analysis and recommendation on all Variations and Extensions of Time Claims.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Statewide Road Engineers Resident Engineer, Cowra NSW. Contract administration and supervision for RTA on roadworks and bridges on the Mid Western Highway at Cowra. Valued at $6 million. Supervision of 4 km of road pavement works and construction of two bridges which involved:

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Statewide Road Engineers as the Resident Engineer, Tomingley NSW. Contract Administration and Supervision for the RTA on roadworks and bridgeworks on the Newell Highway south of Dubbo at Tomingley valued at $7 million. Supervision of 12 km of road pavement works and the construction of two bridges.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Statewide Road Engineers as the Resident Engineer, Dubbo NSW. Engaged on Contract Services for the RTA on roadworks and bridge construction for the RTA Dubbo District Office. Involved in the construction, planning, estimating and supervision of all RTA direct control Construction works. Direct control of four Works Supervisors, five road construction gangs spread across four work sites, valued at $4 million, Contract supervisor of Eulomogo Creek Bridge on the Mitchell Highway east of Dubbo.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Statewide Road Engineers as the Resident Engineer, Molong, NSW. Engaged on Contract Services for the RTA on the bridge construction and approach roadworks at Two Mile Creek, on the Mitchell Highway South of Wellington valued at $4M. On-site supervision and contract administration.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Statewide Roads on the construction of the M4 missing link in Sydney. Duties included the supervision and management of work associated with the M4 Service Centre, in the area of street lighting, electrical and telephone reticulation, guardrail and fencing, signposting and linemarking. Project Engineer on M4 Motorway between Concord and Prospect. Duties have been the construction Supervision and Contract Administration of the following contracts:

Construction of 2 major box culverts.
Construction of 2 post tensioned bridge structures and 2 precast girder bridges.
Construction of a 1 kilometre arterial road including 2 major roundabouts.
Major earthworks and stormwater drainage for the M4 Motorway.
Supervision of the major M4 pavement construction works involving a pavement of concrete sub-base and deep lift asphalt.
Installation of street lighting.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Sinclair Knight and Partners in Sydney. Duties included Construction Engineer on the following projects.

Contract documentation and specification writing for a new City West Link Road, Glebe.
Contract administration to the NPWC-3 General Conditions of Contract and daily inspection and supervision of extensions to Ansett Domestic Terminal at Sydney Airport.
Formulation of SKP Quality Manual to AS 2990, including the Inspection and Test Plans and the methods of inspection and Quality Records.
Contract administration and daily inspection and supervision for the construction of new helicopter facilities at Sydney Airport.

Greg McGinniskin was employed by Department of Main Roads as Assistant Works Engineer, Windsor, involved in the construction planning, estimating and supervision of

4 kilometres of 6 lane concrete road along Great Western Highway at St. Marys to Werrington involving the planning and supervision of major earthworks, stormwater drainage, concrete sub-base and concrete base to DMR standards using the concrete pavement manual.
1 kilometre of 4 lane flexible pavement along Parker Street, Penrith.
Intersection construction at the major intersection of Coreen Avenue and the Northern road, Penrith.
Freeway interchange/ramps at the intersection of Mulgoa Road, Penrith and the F4 Freeway which involved the planning and supervision of 100,000 cubic metres of earthworks, major freeway stormwater drainage, concrete sub-base and concrete base construction.
